Making Sense Together, an event supporting people with neurodiversity and promoting inclusivity, is returning to Darlington Market Square on Thursday 13 August from 11am to 3pm.
The event will feature free activities including crafts, face painting, art, bubble play and performances on the summer stage. Quiet spaces will be available for families, alongside a range of sensory and engaging activities designed for all ages.
Support and advice on offer
Organisations including Daisy Chain, Darlington Association on Disability, Darlington Carers Support and Darlington Mental Health Support Team will attend to share information and advice with families.
Groups and businesses providing inclusive activities and wellbeing support in the community will also be present, with opportunities to take part in workshops and activities suitable for everyone.
Council backing
Councillor Nick Wallis, the council's cabinet member for children and young people, said the event has been carefully planned to ensure an enjoyable experience whether attendees want to get involved or simply watch. He noted that the event supports the council's ambition to create thriving places and connected communities.
